If your household is like mine, you have a lot of bulk pack tea lights in a closet or a drawer. While these are great for mood lighting, they fall short during power outages as the decorative holder for them don't protect the flame from drafts and they are not especially portable. This lantern allows me to take best advantage of the candles I already have on hand.
I didn't 'need' this but I bought it anyway, I'll probably use it for candle storage
