I have many fond memories of camping with a candle lantern when I was young. Now that I’m in my 50’s I’m really enjoying having one again.
Scratch-resistant? Like it will not get scratched when stored with your other camp kitchen items? It should state in the product description NOT to use metal utensils with these plates. I was using my GSI Outdoors Pioneer Knife which is metal to cut some sausage I had cooked on the grill. Since it was dark I waited till morning to clean up, two of the three plates I just purchased had deep scratches in them. Luckily my camping buddy brought two of his tan camping plates so we could eat some scrambled eggs. He has been using his Titanium camp cutlery on his tan plates for years with no issues. Unfortunately the tan plates are no longer made. Will now be using the UCO ECO Camp plates just for sandwiches and the like since they are scratched.
I have several different knives, sane brand. After researching for a rope knife to carry on my water vest these were a great price and excellent customer service.
I’ve wanted a Mora knife for a long time and this version struck me as the perfect all round knife. It comes sweetly sharp and I like that it can be carried right or left.
This is my third Esbit pocket stove (I have the small and medium too) and as expected I like it a lot. Obviously it's more stable with bigger containers and you can really pack in the solid fuel pucks if so desired. It also fits snugly in the Pathfinder MOLLE canteen bags' front pocket. Cool. My one quibble is why they don't include the little windscreen like they do with the medium size. It fits in the large just like in the medium, no problem. Anyway it's not advertised as containing the little windscreen so I won't take off a star. But still, why not?
great knife. very stout for a small blade.
I do like the handle size. Fits my hand well.
Defiantly works. It casts the light a bit forward and shields you from loosing your night vision.
Great lamp that expands capability of the single lantern. Would buy again.
Outstanding company with superior product line. A pleasure to do business with!
Arrived so fast i didnt even have time to think of an excuse to tell my wife on why i had another package coming
It is a nice knife. I bought it mostly for food prep. And the flat grind should work well for that.
The sheath is typical for Mora knives functional enough. Given that I'm going to carry this knife in my camp kitchen and the fact that you can remove the belt loop assembly will make it fit much better in my kitchen box.
Worked perfectly and shipped quickly
These candles work great in their rely neat lanterns
Even one lantern can make a cup of tea. My biggest problem
" Made in China" WHY?
Great little knife to throw in the pocket. I honestly have forgotten it was there. And, with a name it has, had to get it.
These cups are great. They are a great size that is a great balance between optimizing space saving and being big enough to satisfy. The fact that they nest easily inside the mess kit is a bonus for backpacking. I have and use one of these. My teenage daughter and son, both Life Scouts. use them as well as my wife.
Thank you so much Rob! We LOVED seeing those cups along with your Life Scouts uniforms :) So happy your entire family can enjoy the cups- they really are amazing aren't they! Thanks so much again for sharing and for being part of our UCO family!
Brass Uco candle lantern is a must have. Love it!
I added this to my rotation to try something new and I really like it. My Holy Grail knife is the Benchmade mini griptilian (557) and this Hannegan compares really well to it at about half the price. The lock is solid, it opens one handed smoothly, and the steel is good quality. Zero blade play. If I have one complaint, it's that the G10 has stained a little bit either from my jeans or some oil. I also got some spray paint on it which you can see in the photo, but oh well. The red color is nice and a bit more fashionable than the rest of my black options.
